May we display your header on our new site directory? As it is now, the site title (linked back to your home page) is listed, and we think displaying the header will attract more attention. In any event, we hope you will come by and see what is going on at SiteHoundSniffs.com.

What beautiful light in your moon photo. That white sailboat looks a bit lonely in this harbor.

Hello Jerry. That's ok about using the header on your site. As long as I can change my mind if I want to! Perhaps you would leave another note here to confirm you've read this one?

Hello Deepak. These variations in light make it the kind of view one can look at every day and still see something new.

Hello Taken for Granted. The white sailing boat does look a little lonely, doesn't it? Portland Harbour is used for many sports - sail boarding, kite surfing and swimming as well as sailing. The boat in the picture is attached to a buoy at one of the sailing clubs - so more would have been in view if I had turned the camera leftwards a little.

If I had turned it more to the right it would have included the Academy which hosted the Sailing Events for the London Olympics - and Portland Port where cruise ships come in. In winter and bad weather container ships might well be in view too, sheltering from storms - or just hanging about (I don't know why some stay for longer than others!)

The busyness of Portland Harbour is one of the reasons I posted this picture - a moment of tranquillity in a marvellous light with the moon being so clear long before it got dark.

Yes, I will remove the header and go back to the text link whenever you want, but I cannot imagine why anyone would. For having a linked 300 x 150 (pixels) header displayed (even a plain one like you have) certainly stands out over the 18-point text links and attracts more attention from those looking for something of interest. I will get right on displaying it and get back to you.

Thank you so very much for giving permission. You can see your linked header under All, Daily Life, Land/Sea/Skyscapes, Photography and the United Kingdom. If you could say something (preferably good) about SiteHoundSniffs.com here and there, I would greatly appreciate it.

Jerry. I can see you are putting an enormous amount of effort into your site SiteHoundSniffs and hope it goes well.

Where I am a little reticent . . . there could be a conflict of interests if it were to work backwards. In other words, if Google starts sending people looking for Message in a Milk Bottle to SiteHoundSniffs instead of directly here. In which case they might either give up or find something else equally interesting and go there instead.

In the meantime, if you'd like to add my other blog, Loose and Leafy, to your list as well ( http://looseandleafy.blogspot.co.uk/ ) you are welcome to do so. (Again with the proviso that I can change my mind.)

Be assured that I greatly appreciate the encouragement. I really do not think you have anything to be concerned about, but I will remove your headers whenever you want. I had Loose and Leafy on the list to be added in another round, but I added it ahead of time. You can see its linked header under Entertainment, Gardening/Plants, Insects/Reptiles, Land/Sea/Skyscapes. Photography and the United Kingdom.
